Pearl and Rosie County Champions

 

Pearl Powell and Rosie Shackell defeated Jayne Stockwell and Holly Haslam of Stock Brook Manor, 6 & 5, in The County  Final of The Hunter Foursomes at Langdon Hills.  Pearl and Rosie were magnificient as they plotted their way round the course. Hole after hole, they drove, chipped and putted their way towards victory. At times, vital putts had to be holed, in order to secure a half or the win. Pearl and Rosie maintained an iron grip upon the round, even when their opponents embarked on a successful run of holes. The bunkers and rough did not deter Pearl and Rosie, as they each as a challenge. Both pairs dealt with the weather, a fine drizzle but the expected torrential rain stayed away.

A small but attentive gallery followed the match, comprising of County Officials, fellow golfers and relatives.  Afterwards, in the clubhouse, the trophy was presented, with the spectators showing their appreciation to both sets of players.

We hope that Pearl and Rosie will defend their title in 2019.
