Colne Valley Golf Club is approved by Essex County Council as a venue for Civil Marriages, Civil Partnerships and other celebratory events such as Naming Ceremonies and Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremonies.

Ceremony Rooms

For small intimate weddings we have The Cresswell Room. Medium sized ceremonies can be accommodated in the Members Room whilst for larger ceremonies the impressive Valley Room is available. The Valley Room offers stunning views across the picturesque Colne Valley. The venue provides a range of locations for those important post-ceremony photographs. Ceremonies can be simple or more formal and tailored to meet your individual needs making your special day truly memorable. For example, ceremonies can be given a personal touch by incorporating readings or a suitable piece of prose.You can provide your own choice of music which can be played in the background whilst your guests assemble and again at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Making a Booking

Working closely with the Essex Registration Service colleagues at Braintree Registration Office we offer the perfect venue for your ceremony. Contact us to make a provisional booking, and then you will need to contact the register office at Braintree to arrange for registration officers to conduct your wedding. You can make a provisional ceremony booking with the registration office up to twenty four months in advance.

Each person wishing to marry has to give to give their own notice of intention to marry to the Superintendent Registrar or nominated deputy in the area in which they reside. In Essex this can be done at any registration office (except Southend and Thurrock which has separate Registration Services). Legally you can only give a Notice of Marriage/Civil Partnership up to one year in advance of the ceremony.

Now Available - Midweek and Evening Weddings

Following changes to the Marriage Law, it is now possible to marry or form a civil partnership in the evenings. If you are on a budget and do not want a full reception, we can offer you cost effective options for midweek and evening weddings. What could be more romantic than an early evening wedding in the summer months with the backdrop of the sun going down?

Other Celebratory Ceremonies

In addition to marriages and civil partnerships, Colne Valley Golf Club is also available for the holding of non-statutory Naming Ceremonies and Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremonies.

Naming Ceremonies provide the opportunity for families to welcome a new arrival into the family and for family members to make a formal commitment to the support they will provide the child. Ceremonies can include readings and music and can be tailor-made to meet your specific requirements.

No matter how long you have been married, Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremonies provide you with the opportunity to say '' I do'' again in a touching and meaningful ceremony in the presence of friends and family.
