Winter Lg Rd 6

We are certainly experiencing all kinds of weather for this years winter league with today's round six played in very still conditions with hardly a puff of wind and the course once again in excellent condition. The fourball better ball medal produced some excellent scoring and in keeping with the benign conditions witnessed 95% of the field breaking par. A nett 62 won the day for the pairing of Tayla Hughes and Joe Butler. Birdies on the opening two holes got their round off to a flyer and apart from a bogey on the 5th they parred in for the rest of the front nine. Dropped shots on the 10th, 13th and 14th was counteracted by two more birdies on 15th and 17th. Seven pars and two bogeys saw the pairing of Critchley and Reeve come in with a solid front nine. More of a mixed bag for the back nine with a double bogey on the 13th offset with birdies on the 15th and 17th for a nett 63 one off the leaders. A further shot back and having a solid winter league campaign are the pairing of Russell Bell and Don Cutmore. 6 pars in their front nine and a birdie on the 9th made up for the double bogey made on the 5th. A very solid back nine with a birdie on the 15th saw the pair score a nett 64.

Bell and Cutmore now lead the table with a three point cushion over Jack Perfect Brown and Chris Carter. Two more rounds to go and it is now we start to look towards the best 5 scores.

A reminder that round 7 takes place next Sunday 19th February with the format being 3 clubs and a putter so please book in early, remember sign-up closes on Wednesday evening at 8pm. Also please remember you have to have ONLY 3 clubs and a putter in your bag, it is not an option to be able to choose three clubs from your set!
