Captains Away Day at Stowmarket Golf Club

We had a great turnout for our Captains Away Day, with 65 members playing at Stowmarket Golf Club.

We all arrived with the sun shining, to a very welcome bacon butty and coffee.

The course was great shape and the greens were excellent considering the storm we had on Thursday.

Despite a very chilly wind and a rather slow, but dry round, we all made it back to the clubhouse, where we enjoyed an excellent roast and dessert.

We played 4bbb format, which was won by Captain Iain and Paul Wareing with 44 points, and runners up Steve Bishop and Paul Birch with 42 points (on count-back) for the men.

The wining ladies team was Marion Gaught and Carol Sexton beating Corinne Burnford and Amanda Rollings on count-back, both with 39 points.

The nearest the pins were won by Barney de Beer (x2), Karen Biggin, Kieran Leahy and Sue Gilbert.

Well done to all the winners.

Malcolm Waite won the bid for the 4 Ball voucher at Crondon Park, with the money going to The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

A Big Thank You to everyone for a great day out.
